Piano Reserva - a Scarlatti Soirée

The combination of culinary delight with a theatrical program has been proven triumphant for several years by the great success of Palazzo - an event that mixes great gastronomy and performing art.  The producers of Palazzo will present once again a unique and intimate, new evening of classical piano music combined with the best wines. Leading wine experts will provide the wine choices, while the American / Israeli pianist Pnina Becher will provide the musical component. Pnina Becher will tell through stories and a beautiful selection of sonatas, the tale of Italian composer Domenico Scarlatti. From the period of Bach and Händel, this illustrious composer produced as many as 560 sonatas while traveling through parts of Europe, and in a relatively short time.  The audience will follow Scarlatti through the wine-producing countries where his life’s journey unfolded. The concert locationsin Holland have been carefully selected, and so between September 22nd –October 1st, Piano Reserva can be both heard and tasted at the Great Church in Alkmaar, Estates Mariënwaerdt in Beesd and in the Great Church of Naarden.
Piano Reserva
Piano Reserva promises to be an unforgettable sensory event. The audience will experience classical music as it was originally performed, in unique, beautiful salons, palaces, and estates . The atmospheric environment, the perfect wines, and beautiful music transcends the one-dimensional perception of an ordinary theatre. The concert consists of five or six musical sections, as defined by Pnina Becher, playing Domenico Scarlatti’s sonatas. Each section is coordinated with an appropriate given wine. Tonia Bentivoglio, wine specialist of Vinites BV, says: "It is my goal to select the right wine for the specific music selection. This project is unique for me because I am challenged to perfect the marriage between the wines and the beautiful piano sonatas. Scarlatti's music offers a great opportunity for a very special experience, enjoyed by both wine and music lovers.”  The audience will be able to purchase both music and wines after the performances.  Piano Reserva schedule is: September 22-24 at Grote Kerk,  Alkmaar,  September 25 to 28 at Landgoed Mariënwaerdt in Beesd,  and September 29 - October 1 at the Grote Kerk in Naarden.  Tickets go on sale on Monday, June 23. Baroque ensemble Interpreti Veneizani completed their NOrth American tour with a big bang at Brooklyn Center for the PErforming Arts.  Their continued success gained them rave reviews, and audiences throughout North America are reacting with standing ovations and thunderous cheers.  Their performance at Modlin Center for the Arts in Richmond VA was recorded for broadcast on NPR's Performance Today.  This is what The Royal Gazzette newspaper wrote about their Bermuda Festival concert:  "It is unusual, particularly in wintertime, for an audience to be held in such thrall that the entire concert is received in utter silence, uninterrupted by a single cough, sneeze, dropped program or premature exit, so in this, and all senses of the word, the opening night of this splendid group was rare indeed. ...From start to finish, this was a journey of extraordinary musicianship, where each work was addressed not only with freshness and clarity but also immense passion. Every nuance, texture, variation in color and emotion was explored to perfection, the sum total of which was pure gold.

Their next tour will be in January 2009 and we already started booking March/April 2010l.  The huge success created major touring opportunities throughout the world.
